Buckingham Town Reserves 0-3 Eynesbury Rovers Reserves

United Counties Reserve Division Two, Saturday 1st September 2001
Match report from Dean Shipp.

Eynesbury bounced back from the disappointment of losing in midweek to take all three points from their trip to Buckingham. This result was all the more creditable after manager Dean Shipp was forced into drafting in four 17 year olds after injuries and 1st team call ups decimated his squad.

Senior debuts were given to Gary Curtis and Marcus Hendry, who turned out alongside fellow u18 players Kidd and Durkin, also recent recruits to the side. Rovers started well and opened the scoring in the first half, when a 40 yards pass from skipper Stuart Humphreys found the lively James Collings, who wasted no time in shooting from 20 yards to beat the home keeper. The second half saw Eynesbury defending for much of the half and relying on the odd breakaway, and their cause was not helped when Carey White took a knock on his ankle and had to be replaced by the physio Anthony Gentle.

However defend they did with Durkin excelling in midfield and Samal making several vital saves. This encouraged Rovers who found themselves 2 up when good work by Craig Smith put in Collings for his second goal. Soon after the same pairing teamed up again for Collings to complete his hatrick and give Eynesbury the win, that keeps up their challenge at the top of the division.

Buckingham Town Reserves 4-3 Higham Reserves

Robins reserves came from three goals down to win a dramatic game against to win 4-3. Eddie Knight scored twice (64,66), Abdul Adbi equalised (69) in an incredible five minutes, before Chris Alfred scored a dramatic 87th minute equaliser.

Buckingham Town Reserves 2-0 Daventry Town Reserves.

Under the new Manager Paul London, the Robins notched up their first win of
the season with a 2-0 win over Daventry reserves.
After drawing last Friday at Woodford United Reserves, the Robins saw Chris
Alfred give them the lead mid-way through the second half with a left foot
shot, after his first effort was well saved.
Half-time substitute, Ken Boateng, produced an excellent run before
unleashing an unstoppable shot into the bottom right hand corner.
A good performance with First teamers Andy Chapman and Simon Cahill in the
centre of defence and young full backs Tim Lawrence and Jim Carmichael
impressing.
Joshua Maison, Elo, Greg Hardie and Tesser playing well in midfield.

The Reserves travel to play Michael Anthony FC away in the Berks and Bucks
Cup on 29th September.
